situation. first, cain was taken out. second and third, two out. in a minute, bruce bochy came and got matt cain, with lopez coming in the game. the rain hit, they pulled the tarp on. and we were in a -- at the beginning of a three-and-a-half-hour delay. an announcement came over the speaker in the booth especially when you bring a pitcher in, he has to face a batter. because of the situation and the lengthy delay, he didn't have to. but lopez, it appears is meanwhile on the other side, i will guarantee you that it was mike matheny's intent to have boggs work the rest of the eighth. rest of the seventh and then go through the eighth. to get to jason motte. now with the layoff, after boggs came in and struck out the two hitters he faced he has fernando salas up with boggs in the dugout. or in the clubhouse. and jason motte next to salas in case there is a hiccup in
